This Challenge has helped me learn how to cope with challenges that come up during weight loss. The gym has always been a must for me to be able to stick to my diet in the past.
Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with invasive triple negative breast cancer in week 2 of this challenge and ever since then it has been a whirlwind of tests and procedures. My port was placed just the other day and I start Chemotherapy next Friday for the next 6 months then 2 surgeries and radiation therapy after that.
I wanted to get as far into my weight loss journey as I could before that all started because I don't know what to expect with it. That was why I didn't give up.
With all the trips to the hospital it was hard to fit the gym into my day so I tried my best to stick with my diet because I could at least control that.
I watched the video about Dana's thyroid starting to give her problems again and it really inspired me to keep going even though I'm facing the hardest challenge of my life right now. So thanks for posting that video it helped to see even someone as fit as Dana can have similar challenges as the rest of us.
I feel stronger mentally than I did when I started this challenge. It was hard to get this diagnosis but I honestly think I would have taken it even harder if I was not doing this challenge when it happened.

I had been a little depressed. I needed a jumpstart and kick in the butt to get me back in the gym and out of my head. I just trust the Bailey’s. I know they’re good people, so I had faith in what this training program would do for my body. I tried to eat within my macros and struggled with staying away from dark chocolate and peanut butter. Well first off I would like to thank you Dana for this challenge. I struggle with binge eating and have had this problem for almost 5 years and I’m so happy to say this challenge is the longest streak I’ve went without binging! I’ve not only made huge physical changes but I’ve made huge mental changes and now am on my way to a healthier relationship with food. Inside the gym I feel so much stronger and more confident!

I think the challenge being focused around habits was a huge driving force for me. I picked a few things I know were holding me back like eating out and drinking. After the first few workouts I felt like I was in the gym literally following Dana on one of her workouts and I made it my goal to do every thing she programmed for each workout. I remember watching one of her videos with CT fletcher where her and Kai Greene were training and they were going until they couldn’t do any more and that was my mindset with my workouts and sticking to my habits. Adding extra cardio on days where I had the time was definitely another part of my success. I focused 110% and it was WORTH IT. I’m a DLB Daily addict now.

This was an incredible but trying process where I stuck with my diet, training, supplements, and 20k steps a day to lose 12 lbs, several inches off of my waist, an entire bra cup size, and increased my mileage both in distance and time. Family outings, birthday parties and celebrations were tough but I know that I’ve always been tougher. My wedding dress fits beautifully and I feel so very confident again. Thank you!

I entered the challenge last minute only hearing about it the day before it began. Being a long time follower of Dana and admiring her back story, it didn’t take much thought on my part whether to enter or not. At age 46, I had just became consistent with my workouts and nutrition over the last few years. The challenge provided me the guidance and structure to push to the next level and get outside of my comfort zone. Looking back, prior to the challenge, I was often just going through the motions and had become stagnant. The Summer Shred Challenge helped me reignite the fire I had for bettering myself physically and mentally. I could always find an excuse to not do something, but what I found was a greater reason to keep pushing and half-assing was not an option. The community provided a group of like-minded supportive people that helped each other level up and stay accountable. The workouts pushed me outside of my comfort zone as I didn’t allow myself to take any easy way outs. Fitness/Nutrition has saves my life (and health) in more ways than I can describe in any short summary- and this challenge was a gift to myself. I will continue being a DLB Daily app member and I will keep pushing myself to the next level. Thank you!
